Men's Ministry and Fellowship

What We Offer

In 2014, several men that had attended previous CHRP Weekends in the parish began to talk about how they missed the fellowship that developed as a result of the weekend.  A few of us began meeting about once a month for breakfast on Sunday mornings which was great for socializing, but still seemed to be missing the spiritual aspect of the CHRP weekends.  In January of 2015, we gathered for our first Men’s Ministry and Fellowship meeting in the Parish Center.  We meet from 8:45 to 10:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

We have about 18 men in the database that have either attended or expressed an interest in the meetings.  We have 5-6 men that meet with us regularity, although it is not necessarily the same 5 men.  We are a small, informal group.

The intent of the group is to provide a low stress setting to explore the challenges of living the faith in our daily lives and use the work book Signposts: How to be a Catholic Man in the World Today as our guide.  One man will volunteer to be the facilitator for the day to act as a guide for the meeting.  Attendees do not have to prepare anything prior to the session.  Each session is unique, so men are free to attend according to their availability and always fit right in.  The group is open to all men; no formal application is necessary, just show up when you can!

Bible Quote

I urge you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.  Do not conform yourselves to this age, but be transformed in the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
- Romans 12:1-2

Volunteer Quotes

  • "The Men's Ministry at Holy Spirit has provided a place for me to talk through many of the joys and challenges in  my life.  The other men in theis group are true Leaders of our parish!  It is an honor to meet with them and get their perspective on scripture."
