Bible Study

What We Offer

Bible Study began in 2008 after a CRHP retreat.  The ladies were looking to continue to grow in their faith.

Currently there are three groups meeting Monday evening from 7-9 p.m., Thursday afternoon from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.  The groups vary in number from eight to 20 people in each group.  In the group, each member purchases student materials that coincide with the material they go over.  While at a meeting, there is usually a video that is shown with homework to follow with that video.  (You have until next week to finish it.)  Each group itself does two studies a year.  Sometimes the studies are during Lent or Advent.

Tom Healezeltine says, "Bible Study has allowed me to understand the full story of salvation history and how the New Testament is foreshadowed in the Old Testament and the Old Testament is reflected in the New Testament making them more meaningful when read at Mass.  This and listening to the lively discussions and struggles strengthens my sense of community and have enhanced my faith and prayer life."

If you are interested in joining, please contact Colleen Simon at 317-402-1930.   The Monday evening is lead by Tom Healezeltine.  The Thursday afternoon group is lead by Penny Eisenhut.  The Thursday evening group is lead by Juanita Johnson.

Bible Quote

But in your heats revere Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect.
- Peter 3:15

Volunteer Quotes

  • "Bible Study has helped me understand just how much our Catholic Faith and especially the Mass is based on the Bible.  The full story of salvation has allowed me to see why we Catholics believe what we believe.  It is because of the Biblical interpretation of the Church founded by Christ, our Mother Church, The Catholic Church." - Raniel Cruz
  • "Bible Study has strengthened my faith and helped me understand Catholic apostolic tradition.  Meeeting different people in the Parish and listening to their faith stories has been inspiring." - Steve Ulrich
