Wedding Coordinator Ministry

What We Offer


     In 2009, the Wedding Coordinator Ministry began with four coordinators, three of which are still part of the ministry today: Julie Burris, Kathy Lantz and Cindy Mattingly. Father Paul first introduced this ministry as a way to assist the priests during the ceremony and to field facility questions from the bridal party during their planning.

     Our ministry assists with the coordination of the actual wedding ceremony. We help organize the wedding party at the beginning of the ceremony and coordinate with the priest and the musicians. We oversee the facilities to make sure the church is set-up to meet the needs of the ceremony. Set- up includes attending the rehearsal, setting the altar, making special arrangements needed in the church on the wedding day, assisting the wedding party through the ceremony, and responding to any questions the couple may have regarding facilities. If you are a Eucharistic Minister, you may be asked to assist the priest, if the ceremony is a Mass. Strong organizational skills are suggested and attention to detail is important in making the day happen.

     Sharing this day with families in the parish is very special. We provide a comfort and ease to these families and valuable assistance to the priest.

     Each person in this group participates in two to four weddings per year. The time commitment includes the Wedding Rehearsal on Friday night from 5:45-7:15 and the day of the wedding for approximately four hours.
